The aphasia world lost one of its strongest advocates on September 20 with the passing of Mike Adler.   The National Aphasia Association lost a great friend and supporter.  Since his stroke in 1993 Mike, and his wife Elaine, dedicated themselves to educating others about aphasia and improving the lives of individuals living with this disorder.  They traveled the world seeking ideas and guidance that led them to create the Adler Aphasia Center in New Jersey.  Their center became a beacon leading the way to full participation in life with aphasia, and no one participated more fully than Mike.  He worked tirelessly on behalf of individuals with aphasia; always hopeful and never giving in or giving up.  We honor him, we are indebted to him, and we will miss him profoundly. The NAA will continue the work of our friend and colleague assisting those with aphasia to live a full life.
