The mission of the Stroke & Aphasia Recovery (STAR) Program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is to maximize communication and life participation for persons and their families who are affected by aphasia and other communication challenges.

Here Are Some of the Services They Offer

The STAR Program offers a total of 10 hybrid (in-person + virtual) small groups, including one group called Caregivers Network.

They Have Great Success Stories

Members of each of the 10 groups decided upon their group names. Groups include The Incredibles, Chatterboxes, Stroke of Genius, Pilgrim’s Progress, Happy Faces, Wired Warriors, Comeback Kids, Minds of the Roundtable, Wise Guys, and Caregivers Network.

Services specifically for people with primary progressive aphasia
Support groups or counseling specifically for caregivers
Online discussion groups, support groups, events, or online one-on-one therapy
