A Tribute to Barbara Martin

The Board of the National Aphasia Association (NAA) regrets learning the sad news of the passing of our esteemed colleague, Barbara Martin. Barbara’s leadership and strong commitment in supporting people with aphasia to live meaningful, fulfilled lives inspires us all. Barbara’s leadership of the NAA Board and of the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital Communications Group created strong advocacy programs for people with aphasia. Barbara, together with her beloved husband, Dan, were a strong partnership encouraging each of us to continue the important efforts of increasing national awareness of aphasia.

Barbara, your warmth, your kindness, and your radiant smile will forever shine upon us, guiding us in advancing your passion to help other stroke survivors. We treasure your contributions to us all.
