UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA AT LAFAYETTE

We are a university clinic that has specialized individual and group services are provided during the fall,  spring and summer semesters for individuals with communication or swallowing challenges resulting from a stroke or brain injury. These services include family education, individual assessment and interventions, and group treatment for conversation, reading, and other areas of communication/social interaction.

Each semester the Adult Neuro Communication Group focuses on daily life application opportunities. The group meets two times per week for group and individual interactions.  Functional communication for conversation, reading for life skills and enjoyment, and internet based communication are addressed. Please contact the UL Lafayette Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic for more information and for a sliding scale fee application.

The Aphasia Support Group and the Caregiver Support Group meets the first Friday of each month at 9:30 am in affiliation with the Aphasia Center of Acadiana. Both groups are facilitated by caring professionals and members of the community with experience working and living with aphasia and other neurological speech-language and cognitive challenges. 

Group Interactions (e.g., Book Groups, etc) are also offered as part of a partnership with the Aphasia Center of Acadiana.
