About Us
The Purdue Aphasia Group is a collaboration between researchers and clinicians in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Purdue University. We are dedicated to providing research opportunities, resources, education, and clinical services for people with aphasia, their caregivers, and SLPs.
The Purdue Aphasia Research Lab seeks to understand how aphasia affects communication and develop ways to treat aphasia and recover language abilities. Interested in participating in our research? In addition to research, the Purdue Aphasia Group offers various services for the aphasia community such as an Aphasia Support Group that meets once a month during the semester. The M.D. Steer Speech and Language Clinic at Purdue University conducts evaluations and provides treatment for adults with language difficulties, including aphasia. The clinic also offers group therapy sessions.

Purdue Aphasia Support Group
Adults with aphasia, their family members and caregivers, and individuals with other communication difficulties are invited to attend our monthly support group meetings for guided conversation practice, educational sessions, and connecting with others. The Aphasia Support Group is led by Michelle Gutmann, PhD, CCC-SLP with assistance from Purdue University MS-SLP Graduate students.

Spring Semester months: February, March & April
Time: 6:30-8:00 PM
