One Aphasia Action is a set of small, actionable activities you can do from home that will help you retain speech progress.

A few days ago, you started a book club for two. Do the same thing with a television show or movie. Choose a friend or family member, pick a show, and watch it together. Use the television show as a conversation starter, just as you would a book. Which characters do you like? Which ones get on your nerves? If it’s a mystery show, can you figure out the clues? Make sure you spend at least ten minutes discussing each episode. You can hold your television club for two with someone in your home, or make a video call date and watch it over Zoom, Skype, or FaceTime.

You can find all of the One Aphasia Action activities on this list. This works best if you start on Day 1 and work at your own pace, even if you’re finding this project long after it has started. Try every activity, even if you only do it once. Keep doing the activities you like, repeating them the next day along with the new activity, and drop the ones that don’t work for you.
