One Aphasia Action is a set of small, actionable activities you can do from home that will help you retain speech progress.

Is reading difficult for you? Download a book on Audible and listen to the book. Listening to a book challenges the same language areas of the brain as reading. Remember that you can set different listening speeds on your device. It can be slowed down, plus you can keep going back and listening again and again until the words make sense. Even better, you can set up your device to highlight the word in the digital copy on Kindle as it reads so your eyes can follow what your ears are hearing. This is more challenging, but it’s worth a try.

You can find all of the One Aphasia Action activities on this list. This works best if you start on Day 1 and work at your own pace, even if you’re finding this project long after it has started. Try every activity, even if you only do it once. Keep doing the activities you like, repeating them the next day along with the new activity, and drop the ones that don’t work for you.
