One Aphasia Action

One Aphasia Action: Day 14

One Aphasia Action is a set of small, actionable activities you can do from home that will help you retain speech progress.

Get ready to practice your speech and maybe laugh a little at the same time. You’re going to play a very simple version of Pictionary. Jump on a video call or play this game with someone in your home. Player One draws something on a piece of paper, and Player Two has to guess what it is. For example, if the word you’re thinking of is “birthday,” you may draw a cake with candles, party balloons, or a calendar. Keep switching off so you get a chance to draw and you get a chance to shout out answers.

You can find all of the One Aphasia Action activities on this list. This works best if you start on Day 1 and work at your own pace, even if you’re finding this project long after it has started. Try every activity, even if you only do it once. Keep doing the activities you like, repeating them the next day along with the new activity, and drop the ones that don’t work for you.
