PLEASE JOIN THE

NATIONAL APHASIA ASSOCIATION’S

STATE REPRESENTATIVES NETWORK

The National Aphasia Association (NAA) is looking for qualified individuals to volunteer to join its “State Representatives Network.”  The Network offers an important link between people with aphasia and local resources.

What are the duties of a State Rep?
When the NAA receives detailed inquiries about treatment options or requests for information about particular facilities or health professionals, the NAA office provides the names of the State Representatives in the caller’s area.  The contact information for members of the Network is also listed on the NAA’s website www.aphasia.org, so some people may contact the State Representative (State Rep) directly.

How much time will it take?
Usually, it will not take up much time.  Some State Reps only receive a few calls a year.

Who can be a State Rep?
Speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists or other individuals who can answer questions about resources in their state, such as support groups, health care facilities and professionals.

What is the benefit?
You can join a distinguished group of individuals with unique expertise in the area of aphasia.  You will be providing a much needed service to persons with aphasia and their families residing in your state.  Through the listing on our website and having your name provided to people in your area you may generate referrals for yourself and/or your facility.

Many states currently have only 1 State Rep while a few have none which severely limits our ability to serve the community.
